Overnatting | A beautiful place in the Best Climate of the World. Colinas del Sol was founded in 1997 by 4 Germans who fell in love with the beauty of Costa Rica. Each of them decided to build their homes in Atenas, a paradise that has fame over a reportage made by National Geographic depicting this place as the one who has the best climate of the world. They also build 8 cabins for national and international tourism.

Today the place is frequently visited by both national and foreign tourism, especially by Canadians who travel every year in different groups to stay some weeks in. The hotel also experiences the yearly visits of some groups from prestigious universities.
Colinas del Sol have a strong commitment with the environment and sustainability of it, participating in recycling programs and having a 100% of the hotels hot water coming from solar heaters.
Our prevailing vegetation features tropical flora and fauna, there are many native trees in the area. We are constantly visited by lizards, butterflies, hummingbirds, motmots and grouses, among others. The orioles are in constant search for our beautiful palm trees in order to build their nests during summer time.
Although we are only a few minutes from downtown Atenas, about 1 km, our location allows direct contact with nature in an atmosphere of tranquility and peace.
