Accommodation | Marina Hotel at Shelter Bay overlooks the picturesque Shelter Bay Marina in the old Fort Sherman area, at the edge of the Fort San Lorenzo National Park. Easily found just a few minutes’ drive after crossing the Gatun Locks at the Caribbean entrance to the Panama Canal, where the jungle is our back door and the ocean our front.

The Hotel offers just the right balance of peace and quiet, with an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. You can walk around at dusk and see monkeys playing in the trees, colorful toucans flying and the most tranquil of sloths relaxing along with the wide diversity of flora you might expect from a primary rain forest. We are just 15 minutes from Fort San Lorenzo and walking distance from Playa Diablo. Whether it is a weekend escape to relax and enjoy the views, or a comfortable room while your yacht is being repaired, the Shelter Bay Marina Hotel is right where you need it.

The Hotel has 11 comfortable rooms varying in size, whether you want to bring the whole family or have a romantic evening with your loved one. Our rooms are appointed with either a Twin/Double combination or a Queen-size bed, satellite TV, very efficient a/c, steaming hot showers and other modern amenities one has come to expect. Over half our rooms have a balcony overlooking the tranquil marina.

To ensure a pleasant stay, we also have a lounge which provides a relaxing and enjoyable place to play cards with your friends, watch television on our 46” TV, grab a book from our library which includes selections from around the world, a wide balcony where you can watch the sunset and even the large vessels heading into or out of the canal.

A fully equipped gym including weight machines and free weights is available for your use, along with our large pool, Jacuzzi tub and sundeck. There is also a coin laundry and mini-mart on site.
The Shelter Bay Marina Hotel is ideally situated for exploring the Costa Abajo (Lower Coast) region of Panama, a very much unexplored gem for culture, history and nature. We can arrange naturalist guides, transportation and other excursions. The marina offers transportation to and from Colon every day but Sundays and we can even arrange transfers from the Tocumen International Airport or the Albrook Domestic airport.
