Accommodation | Ecological hamlet in Auvergne, in a hamlet of character
Les Peyriers, situated on the banks of the Plateau du Mézenc, to the east of the Massif Central mountains, welcomes you for a holiday, a weekend with family or friends, in a unique, relaxing and healthy setting.
The cottage can accommodate from 4 to 12 people spread over 5 bedrooms including one on the ground floor with access to people with reduced mobility, three on the first floor and a large attic room. The house offers 3 bathrooms and 1 WC. Each of the two bathrooms on the upper floor has a shower, toilet and sink. On the ground floor, there is a separate WC and washbasin corner and a large bathroom with access to people with reduced mobility containing bath, shower, toilet and double sink.
The living area of the gîte offers a 270-degree view and consists of a large, superbly equipped kitchen opening onto a dining area that can accommodate up to 14 people and a relaxation area with corner sofa, armchairs and wood stove.
Originally, Les Peyriers is the name that was inscribed on the cadastral registers for the plot of land on which the house is built. The word ‘peyrier’ comes from stones and the peyiers were the masters of the stone, those who built houses and churches.
This is the same name we chose to give to the project and to the house when finished.
The desire to build a house near the place where one of us grew up dates back to a childhood dream. A combination of circumstances, perseverance or persuasion, the dream began to become a reality in 2009 when the foundation stone was laid. The house we chose to build is unique because it was designed according to the characteristics of the site on which it will be built. The terrain relief, sun exposure, prevailing winds, altitude, temperatures, building materials and many other elements all played an important role in the design. These are the principles of passive or ecological houses.
