Directions: San Gerardo de Rivas is situated 18 km northeast of San Isidro del General in Pérez Zeledón. You can come in your own vehicle, by public bus service, taxi, or we can arrange private transportation for you.
From San José, follow the Inter American Highway #2 south past San Isidro, approximately 200 meters from the second bridge over the river Jilguero and turn left just after the entrance to the Maxi Pali supermarket. Follow this road past Sinaí, La Bonita and Miravalles until you reach the town of Rivas, approximately 8 km.
In Rivas, 100 meters past the Catholic Church turn right. Look for signs that point to Chirripó National Park and the signs for Hotel de Montana el Pelicano. This paved road follows the river, uphill to the town of San Gerardo de Rivas at 10 km. Along the way you will pass the communities of Guadalupe, Chimirol, and Canáan.
To arrive at the Hotel de Montaña el Pelicano, you must continue past the community of Canáan and the local high school located on the left hand side. Approximately 700 meters past this you will find the entrance to the Hotel de Montaña el Pelicano. Our entrance is on the left and clearly marked.
